With warmer weather on the horizon and golf courses in the Met Area open for play, all golfers need to remember to do their part and play responsibly. We are fortunate that golf is an outdoor activity that allows for a great physical and mental escape during these challenging times. However, adhering to social distancing guidelines and new protocols on the course remains critical to not only keep our facilities open for play, but to protect the health and well being of all golfers, staff members, and our communities.

READ THE LABEL!

"It has come to our attention that during a routine DEC inspection, a certified applicator's records turned up an application containing Civitas and Daconil Action fungicide. Certain chlorothalonil fungicides and fungicides containing chlorothalonil as a mix, have a label restriction specifically saying not to mix the product with "oil" or "horticultural oil". In this case the fungicide did have a restriction on mixing with "horticultural oil" and as a result the applicator was issued a citation for mixing the fungicide with mineral oil. It is advised that before mixing mineral oil with a chlorothalonil product that the label be checked for a "horticultural oil" or "oil" restriction." We have confirmed with DEC that they view "mineral oil" as "horticultural oil".
